These are only a few of the many pictures taken
during our ongoing Donkey Project which started in
2001-02 with the help of WSPA and was continued with
the help of Arche Noah in 2003.Since then the GAWF
team visit us once a year with a farrier, equine
specialist, dentist and vet to care for the donkeys
in need.
Helping elderly people in remote areas of the
island, far away from any vet or farrier, take care
of their donkeys and also by providing headcollars
and rope try to stop the hobbling.
This project started after we realised that everyone
is caring for cats and dogs, as that is what you see
more often, leaving the donkeys uncared for and
alone, donkeys that are loyal and work hard
throughout their lives.
24/05/2003: Alistair Findlay was here for the anti-hobbling project with a farrier and also left us by 8000 euros better off for the VAT on the clinic.
Please, do not forget about them, support this
project... |
