In January 2005 we finally succeeded in passing the
customs and receiving number plates.
After 2 years of battling with bureaucracy the number plates are on
the mobile clinic! Now all we need is the permission for a vet to operate in it... (28/01/2005)
The Ministry of Agriculture is contacted in order to
issue a license for the proper veterinary use of the clinic. The answer
however is that as there are no laws concerning mobile clinics the
vehicle must fulfill the same criteria as a normal vet's practice (ie.
reception area, recovery room, x-ray machine, blood-testing facilities,
etc.).
As this is impossible it seems we will not be able to use
the mobile clinic for its true purpose of helping animals in need of
veterinary care in remote areas. |
